Artist statement: My family last name comes from Scotland, and my father and older brother are really into Celtic things. My brother asked me years ago to do a painting for him of a Scotsman being called off to war. That sparked an idea for a Fantasia type of idea of accompanying a sad story of a Scotsman getting killed after going off to war and leaving behind a pregnant wife to the song Fur Elise. These are only rough sketches. Actual artworks can take up to 13 hours a piece, and I didn't have time for that.
